Hello you guys who are stuck in the English world for not having been serious with your French lessons (damn you :p). I'm sorry I haven't written anything for you until now but as you all know, I'm
a bit lazy...
So the idea is that Julien will write in French and I will (hopefully as often as him) write in English for you people.
For now, I will just sum up the situation as I don't have much time to spend on the computer. (Yeah, I know, it's a bit unusual)
We arrived on Tuesday but not without a bit jet lag effect on my part. At first, Japan was not so otherworldly as we would have thought but then after spending some time in the city we could slowly
accept the idea that we were in the other side of the world. The very first thing that we got to notice was those masks that you can see pretty much everywhere in Tokyo. Those are to prevent you
from breathing any infectious agent in a public place.
I got to speak Japanese right away for the necessity of getting the address of Rika (the friend who hosted us for those last two nights) on the internet. Luckily we decided not to wait to long
before asking because when the guy showed us the place, we realized that it was completely impossible to find it from the street because there were no displays and it was on the second floor of a
flat.
We got to try various food on the second day like sushi in those kind of restaurant where they are put on a round conveyor belt running in front of us. The idea is just to take the plates you want
and because each plate costs the same price, the total is calculated with the number of plates you have left in front of you. The other restaurant was a tempura restaurant. Tempura are those fried
shrimps that you eat with some rice (of course). Delicious ! You can see on the picture that we were also drinking the famous sake.
We visited a temple as well during this day where Julien learnt that he will die soon thanks to a traditional process of fortune telling available for 100¥. On the other hand, Miho (the women you
can see sitting in the tempura restaurant with us) and me got some good portends.
We entered in those huge buildings selling electronic gadgets. I got a really overwhelming feeling when I got there at first because there are some many different devices even for the same type of
appliance. For instance, I was searching for a electronic Japanese dictionary but there were more than one hundred of them and they looked all the same to my eyes... But still, I finally understood
why women could enjoy shopping so much !
We pictured lately some curious things we found there, like a stairs-shaped banister or a river running all along a street in front of the shops.
